470 pounds, 320 to go. Ready to get started!

  • Hi, all!

I introduced myself a while back, but I was not ready to start losing weight until recently.

I started weighing myself about six months ago, and I was about 470 pounds. I weighed myself today and I was 430. I just signed up for Weight Watchers Online (which I love, and which is very helpful), but I'm not currently able to exercise as I have a leg injury.

I'm 28, I have a LOT of cats, and I was recently married. I'm a game designer and I'm about to launch my own business. I have a lot to live for, and that's my motivation to shed the pounds and take control of my body.

I look forward to meeting you guys, and hearing your stories, and being inspired by you all!
  • Welcome, RubySnacks! I'm a fellow cat-person (I have 3, and 2 dogs). I wish you luck on your weight loss journey, it sounds like you have a good plan to follow and good reasons to get healthier!
  • Welcome, Ruby!

Eating healthy foods in healthy portions is the biggest part of losing weight. The exercise part can always come later, though there are plenty of upper body workouts you can do with light weights to get you started.

Best of luck in your journey!
  • RubySnacks you are already an inspiration for losing 40 pds. Look forward to seeing your progress on your journey.

    Hugs and claps.
  • Well done!! 40 lbs is an awesome first step. You are an inspiration. One step at a time.
  • Welcome! I do Weight Watchers too, it's very helpful.
  • Thanks, guys! Yeah, I'm amazed at how much I've responded to Weight Watchers. I really like the system and I think it'll help me get to a point where I have a healthier relationship with food.
  • Welcome to 3FC. You can do it.
It's a pleasure meeting you. Hope to
    see you on the boards!
  • Hi Ruby! Years ago when I saw weightwatchers getting attention (granted my main exposure was via Little Britain) I was dubious that it would last but I love seeing and hearing how well it is
