New life- retiring and dropping 30 lbs

  • hi all,
I'm retiring soon-- 3 months-- woohoo!! Frankly, I may lose weight just from retiring because I won't be tempted by machines and I will have more time to be active. I can't even get 10,000 steps in a day...

I used to go to the gym every day, but I had elbow and rotator cuff surgery so I wasn't in my groove after awhile. now, I'm so very tired all the time now after work that I just don't go. oh...and I got older.... Nonetheless, I have a doctor appointment the first week of June and I would like to avoid pre-diabetes pills and high cholesterol pills (both run in my family and both have been creeping up on me and the doc warned me to drop 30 lbs.)

I've considered IP, but I don't think I can stick to it as my husband and I do like to go out to eat. We usually split a meal and have a drink or two. He actually went on IP before and lost quite a bit of weight--but put it all back on.

I've considered WW, but there isn't one close and if I'm going to do online, I may as well come here, right? Husband tried that one, too, and the points drove him crazy.

Oh... my husband loves food, he's retired, and he does the cooking. Great guy! Yea! Lots of delicious meals! Yea! Actually, 30 lbs of delicious meals! ugh!!!!

30 lbs. I can do this....but can I do it before the first week of June!?
