Default Hello Everyone!

Hi Guys!

I found this website while searching for weight loss motivation online. I have been yo-yo dieting for years and recently have put on about 18 pounds since staring graduate school. I have winter break coming up and my intense class schedule has begun to slow down a bit so I now want to focus on finally doing something about this weight gain. I have never been "skinny" but now none of my clothes fit and my BMI is teetering on the edge of overweight. I am 5 8" 163 pounds.

I am happy that there's a support group to help with this..I need help!

Could you guys share some motivation with me??

Thank you and I look forward to getting to know everyone,

Brittany

to the site! We're very glad to have you!

Congratulations on recognizing that your weight was rising and then doing something about it. That is a VERY important step that you should always, always do. Catching this now will save you a lot of work later on.

Do you have a plan for how to lose weight?

If you're interested in daily support, there are threads for that.

This one is for daily posts on how you're eating, exercising, etc. and getting support for that (and giving support!). http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/weig...e-welcome.html

There are threads for weight loss, eating, exercise, there are challenges (you can be as competitive or not competitive as you'd like).

Feel free to read and post in pretty much all of the forums. Even though you don't have 100 lbs to lose, you could still learn a lot from the 100 lb support area, for example.

Jump on in, and I recommend searching through older posts and threads - there's a lot of good stuff back there.

Good luck and welcome again!

Hi Penny,
Thank you for the warm welcome! I do need daily support as I can only seem to stick to a diet for a few days before I give up.

I am trying to think of it less as a diet and more of a new way of life, a new way of nourishing my body. This is my current plan:

I am going to eat healthier- no bread, sweets, alcohol, starches etc.

I am going to stop snacking between meals and before bed- I got into a really bad habit of doing this every day also

I am going to start exercising- My goal is 3 workouts a week into classes let out and then 5 or 6 days a week during break, may have to go back to 3 when I'm back in school

Thank you for the support!!

Brittany

I really like the Chicks Up For A Challenge forum. There are threads for exercise goals and weight loss goals every month, and lots of encouragement, too.

Welcome!! What are you getting your degree in?! I am also in grad school and am graduating this spring with my Masters in social work. I understand how hard it is to be in grad school and eat well and exercise, I am trying to get back on track as well! Good luck to you!
