Default Yoyo Dieter Here

Hey folks, I just found this place today and I'm so glad I did. I'm 58 years old, 5'2" female weighing 167 lbs, and in my adult life, have been everything from a size 2 to a size 18/20, which sadly is where I am at now. At my lowest weight, I was less than 100 lbs. I was a regular on dietwatch when it still was a downloadable program to a PC. I lost weight just by sheer determination, extremely low calories and basically eating almost exactly the same thing every single day. I did that because I got tired of entering in every single thing I ate and with the dietwatch program, you could save meals so it was a lot less entering. I also worked out 2-3 hours a day, 5-6 days a week, both with weights and aerobic exercise. I chalk up a lot of my success at that time to being on an ECA regime, (Ephedrine, Caffeine & Aspirin) which worked great for me but made me crazy. Once I could no longer get ephedrine, I had more and more trouble not putting on weight.

At this point in time, I'd be happy to be 125 lbs, which at least is a healthy weight for me. I look better at around 110 lbs.

I was on Nutrisystem for a long time, but I absolutely hate shakes, so it didn't work out for me. I think I lost around 10 lbs on it at one time but then the weight came back on because I just couldn't stick with it. I started wanting to eat healthier, more natural foods. So now I am just trying to cut calories with the most natural, organic foods I can find. This is very tough and expensive. I am also using my exercise bike during the week and going to the gym on weekends for weights.

I'm happy to be here and looking forward to reading everything people have to say.

Hi Midge! Do you know about the myfitnesspal app? It's a free app that you can download on your computer and/or phone and it keeps track of your calories for you. The best part is that MANY foods are already in the program, so just locate the food on their site and it will come up with the calories. It's a great tool for those who are calorie-counting. It will also keep track of your macronutients and exercise. It sounds like you have a great plan with eating organic foods and exercising using both cardio and weights. I wish you the best!

Thanks Jacqui for the welcome and tip on software! I've been looking for a long time for a replacement for dietwatch.
