HI xx

  • Hi everyone.

Just found this site and decided to join as I have just started on my task (don't want to call it a diet) which is to lose 4 stone. I am getting married next year and want to look my best even if I haven't reached my target.

I guess I am here for moral support even though I know I can do it. I lost 3 stone through diet and exercise a few years ago but like a silly cow stopped and put it all back on again and more I am currently 15st 2lbs.

About me? Well I am 45 female (with a transgendered past. I know I don't have to say that but hey, it's me!). I live with my girlfriend in Lancs though I am from South UK originally. I have 3 daughters, all grown up now with my "middle one" who is severely autistic (but able bodied) living with my ex. My eldest is married and my youngest lives with her bf, all down South.

I don't see them or my elderly parents, sisters (2) and brother as much as I'd like but visit when I can.

I work in admin at the same place as my gf.

I have this week embarked on my task which is 300 calories (approx 45 mins) and 500 sit ups (in bursts of 100) which takes about 15 mins. Planning on doing that at least 5 times a week.

As I said not on a diet as such but trying to cut down and drink more water.

I am 5'6 and would like to get down to 11st (which I haven't been in about 30 years!)

Hoping to make friends on here and also offer support.

Love the name of the forum.

    xx
  • Hi vogue congratulations 🎊
It's my 1st day here aswell still trying to find my way around you must be so excited getting married I'm on my phone at the moment but tomorrow I'll log on the computer & maybe we can help each other xx
  • Welcome! You can do it. Congrats on your wedding!
  • Welcome, Vogue1! Congratulations of your upcoming wedding!

It's my second day on this forum and I've already been inspired by the journey's of others. I definitely understand the avoidance of the word diet, it can easily denote an expiration which makes maintenance pretty tough. Plus, the smaller, consistent habits that I practice (in all areas of life) seem to stick around much longer than the big, fast ones. Good luck to you!
  • Hi Vogue1! and on your upcoming nuptials! You are not alone in having taken a significant amount of weight off and putting it back on. Maintenance is hard! This is a great place for support though, so jump right in! You can do this!
  • Thanks everyone xx
  • Welcome! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! If you're ever having a weak moment, come here. I'm new as well and so far everyone has been so supportive and motivating!
