I've been struggling off an on with my weight for most of my 20s. Turning 30 recently has lit a fire under my backside to really take care of it once and for all.
In my early 20s, I put on about 35 pounds from the stress of college and a full time job plus the newfound freedom to eat wherever and whenever I wanted. I lost it pretty quickly and easily just by eating healthier and jogging a few times a week. I started in early May and by fall I was smaller than I'd been even in high school. The ease of getting rid of the flab kind of worked against me for the rest of my 20s because it gave me a really over-inflated confidence in my ability to hop back into a size 6 with minimal effort. As the scale edged up, up, and up, I'd shrug and smugly tell myself it was just a few extra weeks of good eating I'd need to put in. As the months turned into years and I found myself just shy of 200lbs on my 4 foot 11 inch frame, it started sinking in that I was kind of an idiot who'd really gotten myself into trouble.
I've been dieting off and on since late March of this year and I'm down about 20lbs. I'm hoping to finally push all the way to my goal. Mostly I stick to calorie counting while trying to get in plenty of protein and fiber.
Hope to get to know you guys in the coming months.
