Hello and committed to losing that weight!

  • Hi everyone,

Over the years I put on too much weight which depressed me and I finally said to myself that I had enough! I'm 58 years old and after reading different diets, I picked the Atkins diet.

I threw away and gave away all the high carb foods I had in my kitchen and it's been 3 days that I have stuck with this diet.

    Just wanted to introduce myself.

  • Congrats on making a healthy change, and welcome to the forum! I am new here as well, but so far this has been a big inspiration. I am just calorie counting and exercising, but I have reduced my carbs and sugar by a lot!

    Good luck!
  • Dee! Glad to have you here! Atkins is a good choice. I hope it works well for you! Good luck!
  • Thanks Les and Jacqui,

Thanks for the welcome! There was another reason I chose Atkins which was that about 7 years ago I was on that diet and lost over 30 pounds. Things happened in my life and I went off the diet... I figured that if it worked for me before it will again.

  • I have a friend who lost tons of weight on Atkins and he has kept it off for over 15 years! Wishing you the same luck this time around.
  • Hey Dee, welcome from another Vermonter. i think low carb is very important when dieting. I hope you find the support here you deserve !!
  • hi Dee, welcome! Atkins intrigues me as I do like my protein. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
  • Hi all!

Les, I hope to lose the weight like your friend did and keep it off this time around!

Hi Flower, I love Vermont! Been living here almost 6 years (I moved from another state which was stressful) and I can't picture myself living in any other state. Low carb worked for me before so here we go again!

Hi Cheesecakebrownie (cute name), I also love my protein as that makes me feel full, the hard part was giving up the breads but I'm doing good so far! Bye Bye Carbs!

  • I'm new here myself. Trying Atkins and determined to succeed. Good luck to us all
