So I've always known hey I'm overweight. I've also always believed that it's what's in the inside that counts. I have never really cared to lose the weight that I need to. I always thought if I decided to I could just do it, no biggie. I'm not just a little overweight even though that's what I always led myself to believe. I'm A LOT overweight.
So what changed in me? What made me care to slim down. I started caring and wanting to drop this weight off of me about 2 months ago. I have one leg that has swollen up. Of course I went to the doctor and he's tested many things and to this day my legs are 2 different sizes. I haven't went back to the doctor because I know a lot of these problems I have is my weight. The doctor told me I was borderline high blood pressure and that he worries about putting me on the dosage of medicine that will actually help my legs because the medicine causes high blood pressure.
So I decided that day I'm going to go home and actually do this. I was for sure I was going to go home, empty the fridge, restock and be on my way to fixing this medical issue. As you all know...this is not easy. Sure I did great for a few weeks. I lost 20 pounds in no time at all!
I went on vacation a week ago...who wants to diet on vacation...I didn't. It was my last day of vacation that I was in shock that I couldn't just go to the restaurants and order me a salad. On our last day of vacation we took my daughter to an amusement park. She is at a height that she has to have a riding buddy. Guess who couldn't ride with her because I can't ride all the rides at an amusement park. That's when it hit me...what am I doing. Because of my weight my daughters first amusement park rides were with her uncle...not her mom!
When I got home I weighed myself. Since being back from vacation I have gained all my weight back plus 2 pounds. I'm absolutely disgusted with myself. So because I know that I can't do this on my own I came here hoping for some positive feedback and support.
Hi Shera_g! I'm glad you're here! Weight loss takes commitment. Motivation is great for getting started but as you found out when you went on vacation, motivation is a feeling that comes and goes. What you need is a solid decision for action, a commitment, to yourself and your daughter to lose weight. It sounds like you have reached that point. Hi Shera, well done making this decision to change your life. Don't beat yourself up about gaining on vacation. Just start anew today with some lifestyle changes.

Everyone messes up sometimes, it's not a big deal. It's what you do after that counts. I worked my butt off to get to my first goal, and then I was so proud of that I stopped dieting for a YEAR and gained half of it back. haha. But, I'm back and ready to do this. We got this
