New to 3FC and Excited

  • Hello! I'm Jolene, and I've visited the site and forum before, but finally decided to make an account.

I've joined other weight loss forums and online community support groups, but found myself lost in a sea of people and without any real connectivity. This community seems much different, so I'm excited!

I'm 26, mother of one, transplant to Eastern Washington, been obese my whole life, and am ready to say I USED to be obese. In 2014 I lost 50 pounds, nearly lost another 20 to hit my high school weight again, but then got back on sugar and gained back the last 20. Losing 50 pounds total is something I feel great about, so I'm just working on getting off sugar again to get back on the right track.

Looking forward to making connections and finding people to relate with and support through all our journeys!
  • Welcome! Hope you find what you need here. :-)

  • I feel likeminded...I lost 20 pounds this summer and gained most of this back due to a breakup and other stressors in my life. Haven't been exercising and definitely feeling more than a little frustrated and alone in this. So it'd be nice to have someone to text or email every day and encourage one another to eat right and exercise. Maybe start a blog or join back with my fitness pal together on our phones. If you're interested in being my accountability buddy let me know
  • Welcome and best wishes on your WOE.
  • Welcome!
  • Thank you everyone for the welcomes!

And, sheerbibliophile, I'd love to have an accountability partner! I'm not sure how to PM or anything like that, but I'd be down to trade emails.
  • Welcome
  • Welcome Jolene!
50 pounds is really great! Yes, sugar is hard to get off of, but well worth it for way more reasons than just losing weight. I've been off for 9 months now and have maybe craved it 5 times in all that time (never gave in-used my "tools" to get pass it. There can be real connectivity at 3FC - just pick a sub group that feels good to you. And have fun with it.
  • Ok twice today I read about people going off sugar....I thought sugar was in everything so how do you go off of it???? Sorry if I sound ignorant but I am brand new to this....do you mean white table sugar or do you mean all sugar as in fruits, honey ect?
