Default I'm new

Hello All!

I'm new, and wanted to introduce myself. I'm 31 and just had a baby in November. I have always been a bigger girl - and have tried many things to slim down. 8 years ago when I met my husband I was working out all the time, and was down to my lowest adult weight (170lbs). When I was pregnant with my son I went up to 275lbs. I'm now at 235lbs, and am 5'8" tall. I'm trying really hard to lose the weight, to get back to 170ish (**** I'd be ok with 180) but am having great difficulty. To top it off, my older sister just underwent gastric bypass surgery. I feel resentful of this, and am working through my emotions with that. I guess I feel resentful because I'm working so hard, and she really hasn't tried and will now have an easier time losing the weight. I saw this forum, and that there are so many supportive people on here.... I thought the extra support might be helpful.

Thanks for reading, and for being there for each other.

Hello this is a good place for support. Been on for a couple of months now. I'm sorry you feel the way you do about you sisters gastric bypass. But. At the end of the day, I would much rather exercise and watch my food than have the concerns of surgical complication and risks that come with such a surgery. I wish you all the success and happiness

I am pretty new too...trying to lose 25 pounds...we will get to our goal weight by working hard and there is pride in that. So, don't worry about other people and concentrate on how you want to lose the weight.

Focus on what YOU need to do to take care of yourself. Your sister DOES NOT have an easier road than you do [although it might look that way sometimes]. Try not to let your resentment get in the way of your relationship with your sister. My sister got so angry with me because i was finally losing weight and she wasn't that it contributed to our relationship falling apart. It didn't have to happen.
