I've been dieting on my own since May and I thought joining this forum might provide some motivation and keep the momentum going. I've been overweight since elementary school, packed on the freshman fifteen and then some in college, and added a few more pounds every year since.
I've been on diets before, never losing more than 30 lbs and never lasting longer than 3 months. When I lived in Germany, I seriously considered gastric bypass surgery as many of my coworkers had it done with good results. But I love food too much and the long-term change to eating habits was too radical for my taste (pun intended).
Just trying to take it one day and one pound at a time.
