Hi Renee - I'm new too and I understand firsthand what you mean by needing people that are working on the same goals. My "real world" friends are happy for my progress, but other than that the ones who aren't in the same weight struggle have no interest and the ones who are heavy but not ready to do something about it don't want to hear about it even more.
I'm hypothyroid too and also being handled and steady for about 3 years now. Just doing a simple calorie deficit and trying to eat more balanced, though I do get Atkins shakes now and then because they're an easy low sugar high protein option for breakfast on my way to work. Working with a personal trainer 1 day a week and found out I love classes (who would have thought? haha). Started out about 11 weeks ago at 291 and last Monday was down to 259. Next weigh in and measure day is day after tomorrow so maybe that # will come down a little more fingers crossed
