Default UK member feeling fat, frumpy and old

Hi, I live in the UK and have loads of weight to lose.
I don't really know where to start as I've been on that many diets, I don't know what eating plan to follow.
I hate exercising but know it will help keep me fit and lose some weight.
I'm looking forward to reading through the posts and getting myself eating sensibly and losing some weight.

Welcome Fellow UK Member!!!
This is a great forum with great resources to help you get started with your journey.
you say you hate exercise have you ever tried working out with a partner ? or found something that might be fun to do in a group setting? kettle bell classes or something similar?
As for a diet there's a lot of options out there but sometimes you've just gotta start with cutting calories or cutting back too much of a certain food just as a start, the slightest changes to your lifestyle at this moment in time can have big changes even if you just just cut 100 calories and add a few minuets of walking/jogging a few times a week, these are just a few ideas but there's so much you can do to enjoy exercise!

but yeah Welcome to the forum and Keep us updated on your progress.

Thanks very much for the welcome and suggestions CovLad98.
I never really thought of just starting with small changes. I think because I have alot of weight to lose, I've tried to alter almost everything at one go. I know one of my downfalls is having sugar in tea. I've tried it with sweeteners and don't like it. To be honest, I think it's psychological -almost like a comfort thing. Apart from the tea, I don't have a sweet tooth. I don't eat chocolate or desserts but really struggle with the tea.
I used to enjoy yoga and pilates and I've decided that in the new year I'm going to start a class again.

Hi, welcome to the forum!

If you don't like exercise, what don't you like about it? I know for me, sometimes it just feels difficult/painful...what I like to do is concentrate on the sensation of the pain as I'm moving. It seems like when you try to avoid it, you just want to stop moving altogether.

In any case, hope you find the support you need!

Hi KittyBoo! Good to have you! You'll find lots of support here! I am not an exerciser either. Luckily, my weight loss plan does not require it. But I do try to walk each day. Even in the winter, when there is no way I would get out in the cold and walk, I do Leslie Sansone indoor walking videos (Walk Away the Pounds, Part 1 and Part 2) which are free on youtube. Youtube has all kinds of different exercise videos. Exercise is not the main reason people gain/lose weight though. Diet is. What you eat is what matters most, so if you can find the right method for you (and we're all different), whether it is counting calories, Atkins, Weight Watchers, etc., you are going to be successful! And by the way, if you like sugar in your tea, find a way to keep it. Everyone needs to do what works best for them. Good luck! You can do this!
