Default Hi Everybody :)

Hello there! Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone... My name is Lindsay, I'm 25 and I currently live in Washington, DC. I was very active growing up, was on the track team throughout high school, and was a 20-hour per week ballet student. Once I graduated high school, I basically became sedentary and went from 130 pounds to 230 pounds within a couple of years... yikes! I've have a rough time since high school, not just weight related, but I've recently made some big changes in my life and am ready to have my outsides match my insides. I don't really have a plan yet for how I'm going to lose the rest of this weight, so I'm hopeful that I'll gain some insight from all of y'alls experience. I am in recovery and have been sober since September of 2012. I go to a 12-step meeting every day after work, so my exercise time is very limited. I leave for work around 7:30 every day and don't get home until around 10:30 every night, so any suggestions for fitting in some exercise would be happily welcomed! I have an incredible life today, and the only thing that ever really gets me down is my weight. I'm really hopeful that I'll get it together this time, because I'm ready to stop feeling sorry for myself!

Hi Hermione! and on your year-plus sobriety!!! Since you have to go to work so early and get home so late, you might consider free youtube videos for exercise. There are workout videos, indoor walking videos, zumba videos, belly-dancing videos, just about any form of exercise you might be interested in, and you can do them from the convenience of your home. I wish you the best of luck! You can do this!

Welcome Lindsay!!! Congrats on your 1 yr. of sobriety. Definitely an accomplishment of discipline and determination. Which will definitely aid you on your journey~

Activity while you're on the go can be hard, but I *try* to do a few things like:
-Park far when going to places to get more walking in.
-Jacqui mentioned free videos online to work through... On Netflix they offer vids like that as well.
-Keep a pair of weights at your work space. A few reps here and there will add up.
-Avoid elevators/escalators, take the stairs.

Might not seem like a lot, but every bit of activity helps. Best of luck!
