After struggling ALL MY LIFE with yo yo dieting, I finally am trying to lighten up...in more ways than one. Losing pounds for sure but also not being so hard on myself. Embracing that I don't lose in large chunks and that every bit down is " a good thing".
The problem is that I am still a slave to the numbers.. Get on the scale daily which sets the tone of my day.

So that's my mini goal...to weigh in once a week.

Anyone else have "scale issues" ?

BTW I am 59, live on Long Island, NY. I am a retired Speech- language pathologist. Mother of an adult child ( living back home) and a 6 yr old yellow Lab.
Three years ago I weighed the most ever so tried, once again, to lose. Got about 10 pounds off and then came to a screeching halt...my usual M.O. In April hubby and I went on South Beach and have now adopted its principals as our eating lifestyle. I've lost 14-15 lbs more. Still fluctuating but the most success I've had in a long time. More importantly, I've changed my food focuses, have more energy and feel good.

Looking forward to the support and information here

BTW..hubby, who has never had a weight problem, has lost 30 pounds. Grrrr in mean Hooray for him

Striker Mom!!!

What matters is that you have started eating better and so has hubs.. that's terrific.

Do I have a scale issue? Errrrr... well....... yeah. I have to tell myself that every day will fluctuate and to do it once a week so if it's loss, it will be better than .2 down, .4 up, 1.2 down etc etc all week long. I like to see the bigger (hopefully) drops that I can find on the scale when I weigh once a week.

It's alot harder for us gals (I'm almost 50 myself) to lose the weight, that's fer sure!

Hi Striker_Mom! Lots of chicks here have scale issues. (I know I'm a slave to it!) I hope weighing once a week works out better for you! Good luck!
