Default Hi everyone :) Trying to get back on track after a setback

I am trying to start eating healthier and lose some of the weight I have gained back. I used to weigh 185 pounds. Over the course of 10 months starting in January 2011 I lost 56 pounds and got down to 129 pounds. I kept it off for over a year from October 2011 until this spring when I gained about 11 pounds of it back from eating horribly. I feel so ashamed of myself. I worked so hard to lose those 56 pounds. I counted my calories and went to the gym all the time. This spring I just lost interest completely in the gym and stopped going practically altogether. I used to go about 4-5 times a week before that but it's like when the weather started to get warmer and nicer I just didn't want to go. I have maybe been to the gym about 5 or 6 times since May. I also stopped counting calories. After keeping the weight off for a year and a half I started to think that maybe I didnt' need to count calories anymore. Big mistake. I have gained 11 pounds since April.

I need to get back on track but I find it so hard this time around. I start the day out eating good and within my calories but the evening is the worse time. I start eating and can't stop it seems. I have always had a big appetite and this is my problem. The thing that also makes me disappointed in myself is that I wasn't even at my goal weight and I lost focus. I had a goal weight of 119 pounds and I am only 5'3 and have a small frame so this was very reasonable but I lost my way somehow. I want to get there and I need some help and that's why I joined this site for support.

Thanks for reading. Hoping my motivation kicks in and I can do it this time before I gain anymore weight back.

Hi kittykat! Maintenance is very hard. So is losing that last 10 lbs. It's not surprising that you regained some. The thing is, you know how to do this! You know what it takes! And you can and will do it! And now that you've found 3FC, when the evening rolls around, if you're not going to the gym or out for a walk, come online, read, and post. The more you post, the more accountable and motivated you'll be. You have great advice to give because you've done it before! And please don't think you are alone in regaining. SO many of us have been there and we don't want you to beat yourself up anymore because of it. it happens. So browse around and jump in! Be sure to check out the sub-forum "Chicks Up for a Challenge" under Support Groups. There are lots of threads there to hold you accountable. You can do this and you've taken a great first step! Good luck!

Welcome, and good luck! Start little and allow yourself room for error, but don't let that feel like you've ruined everything. Just keep working at it and hopefully that will help get your motivation to kick back in! Again, welcome!
