Lost
Hoping for a little advice. I am struggling after losing 22 lbs and gaining back 10. I had used the ideal protein diet and it worked but now I have gained weight back, although seem pretty stable at 144. Problem is I am bingeing some now and the guilt is killing me. I just want to lay on the couch and cant seem to do anything. I know better but I am just beside myself. How did this turn into depression and a downward spiral after I had done so well and felt so good?

Hi Cassandra! :welcome: Hey, weight fluctuates. It happens for whatever reason. What is so great is that you aren't giving up! You may be upset with yourself but you're here! You have a fighter within you and she wants to weigh 10 lbs less, so you've come to the right place! As long as you are lying on the couch, grab your laptop or move to your desktop and start reading. There are so many motivational threads here, and lots of people like you who aren't willing to give up! You are knowledgeable about the Ideal Protein diet, which means you have something to offer to the folks on that thread (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/ideal-protein-diet-236/) who are trying that plan for the first time. You know, many people (myself included) go off a plan and gain back what they've lost and even more, but you've been able to keep off most the weight you've lost. That's successful! You don't weigh 157 or more! That's fantastic! And now you are ready to lose that last bit of weight, so go do it, girlie! You know you can! Browse around, read a lot, and start posting, because the more you get involved, the more you'll want to do this for yourself and the more you'll realize things aren't as bleak as you think they are. Good luck! You're going to be just fine!

Hi, Cassandra, and welcome!! It sounds like you achieved your goal but struggled with maintenance? Believe me; I think it's happened to us all...
There are a bunch of supportive people on this site -- maybe a few areas to check out are the maintainers area, the chicks in control area (they talk about overcoming binge-ing there), the IP section, ans so many others. Just browse around to see where you feel you identify most and start posting. In my experience, the act of posting creates accountability, which is a huge help through the whole process. Best of luck to you!! |
