Thanks Geoblewis and Mission Fat To Fab for the insight.

So far I have been able to avoid temptation but I know I am going to have a little cake at my DD 8th Birthday on the 2nd and my own 40th is two weeks after that so I keep telling myself to stay strong now and then I can enjoy a little then and will really see how it makes me feel and how my body reacts to the carbs/sugar.

Have any of you noticed any issues related to days with more sodium?

I tend to get very thirsty if i've had too much sodium. My mum still does a lot of cooking for me and tends to put too much salt in a lot of the food she cooks but I just drink lots of water to flush it out of my system.

Having cheats and treats is only. You've spent the last 40 years eating one way, you can't change overnight. I'm planning on having a week of naughty food to celebrate my birthday at the end of august. It's only normal... **** I still dream about hot buttered toast and sweet milky tea every sunday morning.

I have cut out most processed foods from my diet, so I salt fairly freely. Last time I checked my blood pressure was 108/67. If I happen to eat more cheese or bacon some days, I will notice a bit of weight gain, but it comes right off in a day. If I eat out, same thing. But if I eat processed food, then I gain more.

I notice some water retention in my ankles if I eat more sodium and not enough vegetables.

Also, have noticed crazy dry skin on my legs/feet and face. I was reading that taking more fish oil can help with that....did any of you have that issue?
