New and Ready!

  • Greetings! I joined the community this evening to set some accountability for myself and to stay on track. Last year, I was able to lose about 25lbs through simple diet and exercise. Of course, last year I worked at a different job and wasn't a full time PhD student.

I started a new role this past August that I love but since that time have STRUGGLED to stay in the gym. Everything compounded in the spring when I began full time course work, then ended up in the hospital for two non-consecutive weeks in February.

It is worth noting that I am a two time kidney transplant recipient who just celebrated 9 years! But I can't help but wonder how much of that plays a role in my weight loss (or lack thereof). See, I started back in April when classes ended and nothing has changed. I took a long hard look at what I did last time and I have come to the conclusion that I need more, intense workouts. So I am committed to doing just that.

And I am here to get your wisdom and hopefully some support.

    So thanks in advance!!

  • Good luck on your weight loss and PhD journey!!!
