Newbie looking for support!
Hi Guys I'm Sophie,
I am 22 years old and live in the UK. I have been overweight my WHOLE life literally, i cannot remember a time when i wasn't. Having gained weight more and more since i was younger my weight just started getting out of control. I always told myself the day it affected my health i would lose weight then bam i am 20 years old and finding myself in and out of the doctors with constant infections a seriously bad back, an ankle that keeps giving way and many more. I spent years of my life asking the doctors for help and they just said 'Sophie you need to lose weight' .. I was aware of this but what i really needed was help. I have been trying to lose weight since i was a kid and it just never seemed to work. Recently i was put on a milk diet by the hospital and have since lost 4 stone but now i'm stuck. I am back in my old ways of snacking and eating the wrong food and just don't know what to do. I am literally at my wits end. I have spent more than half my life battling my weight problem. Any advice or just someone that's going through the same thing? Sorry if that was a bit all over the place .. So much to say Sophie :) x |
First of all :welcome3: you'll love it here! I'm new here too and all I do is ask random qs and lurk around threads posted by senior members who I am in awe of. They are an awesome inspiration and are ever so ready to guide you with good advice! You'll love it here!!

Hi guys sorry for the delayed reply. I set it up so that I would get email notifications if I got a reply but apparently that didn't work lol.
Ok so the Milk diet I was put on by the specialist weight team at the hospital. It was horrible and one of the hardest things I have EVER done. I was on it for 8 weeks and boy did it take some will power (the hardest bit was being on it over Xmas, new year and my birthday) Anyway what it is ... Basically it is a liquid only diet which consists of ... - 5 pints of milk a day - 2 cups of oxo cube/bovril (to get your salt intake) - multi vitamins And that's it! I have always hated milk so the time I was on this I struggled to drink 3 pints a day let alone the full 5! However because of this I was very tired all the time, drained, kept getting poorly but that was my own fault as I wasn't getting as much nutrients as my body needed. I lost 3 stone while on this diet so I was over the moon with the results! :) x |
