Smile New and wanting to give/receive encouragement

Hello all!

I just started seriously trying to lose weight about 5 weeks ago and so far it is going well, but I think it would be helpful to network with people and share some support on this journey...so here I am.

A bit about me - I work full time, attend school, have a busy family life (don't we all?) and am well on my way to being a crazy cat lady (I'm currently owned by 4 cats).

My current weight loss plan is Weight Watchers and I'm slowwwwwly increasing my activity. That is what I'm having the most trouble with but I hope that as I lose, it will get easier.

Good luck to everyone!

Hi ya shrewlu,
Wishing you tons of success on your weightloss journey!
Looks like you are off to an awesome start!

Good luck with Weight Watchers--are you doing it online or attending meetings?

See you around the boards!

Congratulations on your 9 lb. weight loss!

Read through the forum, you will find so many threads that will help you along the way. Check out the WW thread, they can answer any questions, you may have about the program.

Good luck!

Hey, another crazy cat lady over here, we have SIX! (Frankly, I'd say stop now before they totally take over. When you seriously start thinking about installing cat flaps on interior doors then you've gone too far ...) Congrats on your loss so far and best of luck on your continued success!!!

Welcome! Congrats on getting below 300! That is a big milestone in any of our's weight loss. WW is a very good program and you should find plenty of success, encouragment and motivation as we have many members who are on that program or who have been successful with that program. What type of exercise are you doing? If you find that you don't enjoy it, try something different. I feel it is very important for one to go through the motions to exercise and not have fun doing it. I'm not saying don't be challenged or only do easy exercise, but enjoy doing it so that you will want to do more and miss it when you can't do it for whatever reason. I would also recommend you drink enough water every day. My doc told me to drink 1/2 my body weight in water each day up to 100 ounces. I contribute my large weight loss of 2006 to exercising and drinking water. I send great wishes to you for much success in reaching your weight loss goals.
