S/C/G: starting weight 220/goal 150

Default New from Sanford, Fl

Hello. My name is Athena.I am 30. I live in the Florida.
I have choosen to become healthier and change my eating habbits.

I guess is my first step to get there and to reach my goal. I decided to do so this more now because my younger brother was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. With all the research we have done to fight this cancer or any cancer is to change your diet. No more processed foods and no more sugars. It is hard to start when you are on a budget. It is cheaper to buy proccessed foods.

I finally caved in last night and I made myself a goal to start eating healthier. Not only for my own health but to also support my brother in his efforts of healing.

Hi Althena,
I'm really sorry to hear about your brother's diagnosis.
I wish you both success with eating better and getting healthy.
Cutting out processed foods is hard--I find you grab for them without even thinking!
I hope the sun is shining on you down in Florida
Take Care!

You are right... processed foods are cheaper because over 80% of them contain GMO corn, which is subsidized by the federal government! Go figure!! Healthful food does cost more but it is worth it and cheaper in the long run because you are not spending it in the doctor's office! I wish you the best!!
