Hi all, just wanted to say a quick HI! I am new here and looking for a little motivation and inspiration during my weight loss journey I am just (re)starting. A little about me. I am 35 yrs old, have been married 15 years to my wonderful husband and we have 5 kiddo together ages 6-14 Pre-babies I was a petite 110 lbs (I m only 5'2") Needless to say after having 5 babies in 10 years I had some accumulated baby fat I needed to loose. I have lost about 25 lbs in the past couple of years but am ready to kick this into high gear and finish off my weight loss and get into the best shape of my life. I have always been into and love cardio but am just starting to add lifting in and trying to eat as clan as possible which is totally new to me. I am glad to be here, good luck to everyone, looks like a great place!

Welcome to you, ThatGirl! Me, personally, I hate cardio but I'm forcing myself to do it. I loooooooovvvveed lifting and did it for nearly 20 years until I started getting tendon tears. Haven't lifted in over two years (and I have a beautiful home gym, sob).
Weight training (particularly if you really clean up your diet) can definitely help you achieve your goals in terms of losing inches/bodyfat but remember the whole muscle density thing. I can't emphasize enough, take thorough measurements and keep a record because you can get easily discouraged if you only look at the scale -- even though your formerly snug pants are now falling off you! It's can still be a mind trick though, y'know?
And honey, IMHO anyone who can be a mom to 5 close in age like that can do ANYTHING she sets her mind to! It was all I could do just raising ONE!!!
I'm also 5'2! My highest weight is 250ish but back in 2003, I joined this site and didn't really stick around the way I should have. This site helped me to start drinking water properly but otherwise I just didn't give it my all. So in a way, I am new too! Welcome!
And I agree with ReNew Me - anybody who can be a mom to 5 can do anything! You can do it!
Well, you have an inch in me..lol. I'm 5'1 and started IP on Monday. I went in for my initial consultation last Thursday, but decided that I needed one more weekend to enjoy some cocktails with my husband before starting. My coach asked me to come in yesterday even though I had only started on Monday and much to both of our surprises, I was down 3.4 and had already got to ketosis. I have about 25 to lose and hope that this is the diet that will do it for me.
Hello Blessedfly 1. The only thing I know is that you have to be a member for 20 days and have at least 20 posts and then the signature area on your USERCP will show up. Then just follow the instructions
Welcome to the forum! I know there are some awesome women who lift on here. It really appeals to me too, but I don't have a whole lot of equipment yet. I'm using dumbells to get the hang of form just now, and am considering saving up (if possible) for a few sessions with a trainer to kick things up a notch later!
Hope to see you around the forum, and I wish you all the best on your journey to getting stronger!
I'm on day 3, bit of a tough day, hoping tomorrow will be better! Been drinking about 4 cups of herbal tea a day to relieve the "stress". Also, hot showers work too. Happy to be here and loving all the posts.
