Hello all! My name's Alyssa. I've been lurking on this site for quite some time and have finally decided to make an account. I think I'm really going to need the support and can't really say how much I'll be getting in real life.
I'm 11 weeks post-partum and 3 weeks post-op from getting my gallbladder removed. Between the two I've gained a lot of weight (my gallbladder issues led to me only being able to eat a very limited and rather unhealthy diet) that I'm more than ready to lose.
Growing up I was always the fat kid in school. My family, with few exceptions, are obese and I was always told that, "We're just fat" and "We have bad metabolisms." At 16 I lost a bunch of weight in a very bad manner and, at 160, was the thinnest I had been since I was a toddler. I kept it off through college but gained it again with my first pregnancy. I lost it all again and made it down to 145 before suffering a knee injury that left me unable to do much and then we decided to have another child. So here I am, at 192 again. I've got clothes in all sizes and would really like to just keep it off this time.
I'm currently waiting on my treadmill to come in the mail but until then I'm pretty much stuck as far as exercise goes. I'd like to get back to my cardio and weight training that I was doing prior to my injury but it will be another three weeks before I get the okay for that.
So that's my story! I hope I get a chance to really get into this forum and meet people. The goal topic has been a great inspiration so far.
