Long story short... was fat, got to goal using Jenny Craig and these forums. Have gradually, slowly gotten fat again and NOTHING IS WORKING. I think I have a whacked out metabolism. I'm jumping on the Weight Watchers bandwagon for the first time, trying to avoid another packaged food program even though I had JC success. I'm active but have a huge junk food/fast food "issue," wherein "issue" = I love that crap!!
I really enjoyed the support I found here in the past and am looking forward to connecting with others on the same journey.
Do some research into High Fructose Corn Syrup. Lots of fast food contains it and so does soda, serial, fruit drinks, and a lot of other stuff. There was a study done by a university that shows people who eat less and have HFCS in their diet will gain more weight than someone who its more without HFCS in their diet.
The reason I say this is because I'm cutting out HFCS from my consumption and watching labels closely. I'm no expert, but if they use corn based feeds to make cows bigger in a shorter span of time, it probably has close to the same effect on us humans.
