Default New Years Resolution

Hi everyone!

New to this site, and I'm very excited!

Right now my current weight is around 235, I'm 5'8" and most people never believe my actual weight. My height conceals it, but it's still there. I've lived by this illusion for awhile.

I never grew up with a healthy lifestyle. My parents hated cooking, which resulted to fast food and microwave meals every night. I grew up drinking soda like it was out of fashion, and instead of spreading my meals throughout the day, I'd wait until I was practically starving by late evening and pigged out on anything. Then, I'd go to sleep. And alas, I'm also a smoker, which doesn't really help with exercising and what not, but I'm planning to change that!

I'm not looking to lose weight, I'm looking for an entire lifestyle change. My goal is to quit smoking, and to get down to 160. But I want to maintain it. I've tried weight watchers, and lost about 10lbs, but I'm poor a student and can't afford to dish out an extra $50 a month. Unless I quit smoking! Though I don't really think I need a program, I think I know the difference in what foods are good/bad for me. I just chose to ignore it for so long.

My battle plan is to go to the gym at least 3 times a week for 2 hour increments. I'm cutting out all soda, and eating 3 small meals a day, stretched by healthy snacks.

I've been eating Kashi cereal with skim milk for breakfast each morning. Really fills me up and has tons of fiber. Lunch and dinner are mixtures of fruit, veggies, and skinless chicken. Water has also become my best friend. Snacks are small salad, fruit, greek yogurt, etc. As for smoking, I think I'm going to switch to the e-cigarette. I know, I know, it's still bad nicotine, but it's a healthier alternative and I don't think I can give up nicotine and fatty foods all at one time without becoming overstressed. x-x

Anyway! Thanks for reading! Any tips would be appreciated!
