Hello from another Newbie
Hello :)
I'm new here so thought I'd stop by and say Hi to everyone. I've joined up as I really need some help with my diet, I've lost a fair bit so far, I was 15st 10lb and I'm now 11st 6lb but I seem to have lost the will power to continue. On the 1st Jan this year I set myself a realistic goal of losing 2 stone this year which I managed in July but since then it's been a real struggle, I've still managed to lose 5lb but the lure of the forbidden fruit so to speak (cake, takeaways etc.) is so great I've given in regularly :( I'm hoping that by joining this forum that I can find some help and support and be able to give some as well. Welcome, Briar Rose! I'm totally with you on that cake/takeout thing. Anything I can get delivered or anything with chocolate frosting are my vices. Double points when I can get my cake delivered! It was hard for me to stop eating it, but I've managed to avoid both for the most part these past few months. If I get a craving of say, cake though, I'll allow myself a small piece. That way I get the taste for it without going overboard.
Staying motivated for long durations is hard. I've been having a particularly hard month myself. But I also find that the more I visit these forums, the more I engage the people here in the threads, the more I'm determined to stay the course. A couple weeks ago I had a few pretty big slip ups, and they were also the times I didn't visit the forums. We'll be here for you for as much motivation as you need! Check out some of the challenges threads; maybe joining one will help keep you more accountable like it's done for me. Good luck!! |
