Default Newbie needs help, support and words of encouragement

Hi everyone..I've never been in a support group before. I'm really not sure how this all works.. All I know if that I'm fat and I don't wanna be anymore. I feel like I'm invisible..That is a horrible feeling. I started my healthy living on 7/23 weight was 291. By 9/25 my weight was 265. It felt really good that I lost some weight. But I had a monor set back and for 3 weeks I ate whatever..that was my "excuse". My ideal weight is 160lbs..So that's alot of weight to come off. But I want to get back on track and I was hoping if I joined this group it would help me stay focused on my goal..I could really use support and words of encouragement that I am not getting from the people around me. My friends son is a weight trainer and nutritionist and he has been helping me for free which is awesome...But he is not here 24/7. So at the moment I am on a high protein, low carb diet. with eating lots of beans and drinking lots of water. I gave up sugar and soda. I just need to stay focused.. I would love to hear about what other's have done and what they do to reach their goals..

Hey jody!! and welcome It's good that you're going into your diet with such determination, and remember these things will take time so just stay optimistic! Personally, when I eat beans, I retain water.. but that just might be me.. and I'm positive that you will get a lot of support from this group, it has helped me stayed on track!

As for me, I am basically doing the same thing you are doing right now. It is still a bit hard for to give up sugar, but I am on a low carb diet, I'm actually on the South Beach Diet and it has helped me tons. We have a section for that too, so browse around the forum to see what others are doing!

Yeah there is so much info in this website that is awesome..The reason for the beans (as per the nutritionist) it will make me feel fuller and I won't eat as much.
