Smile Time for me!

Hi everyone

I've been reading these forums on and off for a while now and seeing the successes and the support here. So now it's time for me to put my health first, lose the weight and get back to living life to the full again.

I'm about to turn 50 next month and I've had a few difficult years with family stress and health problems. It's time for me to climb out of this rut and lose the weight for good.

I'm also an Aussie, a mum, working full time and and emotional eater. Looking forward to getting to know you and sharing in your successes!

Welcome!
50, huh? When next month? I turn 48 on 8th, so I know what you mean.

I'm in the same boat. I've put on waaaaaaaay too much weight in the last 3 or 4 years. Emotional eating is a big factor in my weight gain. Between stresses at work, because of financial issues, & family I just seemed to have lost myself in it all. I basically stopped caring about my own health & well-being. Not any more! I joined up here about a week or so ago. So like you I'm just starting out, too! Maybe we should buddy up & push/pull each other along the way in this journey?
GOOD LUCK!!!

Default Hi chickpeas!

I know exactly how you feel. I looked up this year (I'm 47) and realized I had given the best parts of myself to my family and friends and hadn't done anything for myself in a really long time. Now it is time to nurture me! I have been on the board a little more than a month, and the encouragement here is priceless. Good luck and hope to see you around the board!
