Smile We are not alone...

Lets try this again...
I posted an introduction earlier but all it ended up being was a rant that went on, and on, and ON!! Note to self...never introduce yourself in a forum when you are not in the best of moods So let's start over...
Hi all. My name is Emily and it seems like my weight has been my life FOREVER. I'm 38, 5'7, 247 lbs (when I started 7 weeks ago.) Today I am 238 and I weigh myself on Tuesday.
In the last 7 weeks I have "been on" / tried, 3 different "programs". Fitness Pal (put me on too few calories), Beyond Diet (GREAT program but not life sustainable for me) and now WW. This is the second week I've been on the program.
The last 7 weeks weeks have been overwhelming for me as I am very committed to things being different this time so I am constantly seeking information regarding weight loss and nutritution. Let me tell you...there is A LOT of information out there!!!! To say it is overwhelming would be an understatement!
Right now I'm just trying to find my stride. I started a blog on here (Surrendering is NOT an option!) to track what I'm learning about my body through different things I am trying and to just write about how I'm feeling. I hope to connect with some people in the same boat as me so we can support and encourage each other. Sometime even share in those "today sucked" days
Anyway, I'm here to stay. Thanks for listening everyone. I look forward to "meeting" some of you soon.

Welcome!

Just out of curiosity, are you 247 or 147? Not that it matters. I just noticed that what you wrote in the post is different than what you have written as your stats in the side bar lol!

Anyways, welcome! You are right, there is tons of information out there and it does take a bit to get into the groove of things and find what works best for you! I have found that checking into this site regularly helps keep one on track so hopefully we will see you around here lots!

Hello Empowell, and welcome again!!! I am sure we have all felt the overwhelming frustration and discouragement over our past failures, but we can and we must pick ourselves back up again and keep going.

One thing I am seeing from your posts which could contribute to your frustration is that it seems that you may be making this more difficult than it need to be. You are focusing on all the diets out there and the failures, etc. If you stick around the forum (and I sure hope you do) you will see that it really helps to learn to think more positively.

Yes, definitely google to see what foods are healthful and which are not, etc., if you do not already know that. There is always more to learn. But if we try to go off in too many directions all at the same time, it just breeds confusion.

Consider becoming involved in some of the threads here, and you will see that we help each other along the way. Yes, we share frustrations but we also share the fun part such as our NSVs (non-scale victories) and become involved in exercise challenges, etc. Turn it into a POSITIVE thing -- focus on what you are doing right and keep learning and going. You are welcome to join us in a daily checkin thread I am involved in.

Best wishes in your weight loss endeavors. You can do this!!!

Hi Misti. Thanks for the kind words. I tried that link you sent but it didn't work. I was wondering if maybe you could send another? I love the idea of a daily check in with a great group of women who are working on the same/similar things I am. I hope to hear back from you. Thanks again
