Need Motivation
Hello,
I am a 43 yr old mother of two awesome boys, they are 21 and 19 and they are both United States Marines. I went through a nasty divorce almost three years ago and since that time I have put on more than 50 lbs. I feel horrible, my body aches and my feet hurt when I get out of bed in the morning. I look at myself in the mirror and want to break down and completely lose it but I know I need to keep it together. I have a very stressful career and when I get home from work I would rather sit down in front of the TV and eat than do anything else. Since the divorce and now with both of my boys gone, food has become my comfort and my release. I need help and motivation and I am hoping to find a little of each here. I know I need to do this for myself, I want my self-esteem back, I want my life back!!! I am happy I found this site, any suggestions would be great. |
Welcome to the site! I empathize with your pains - I feel sooo much better now that I've dropped some weight. I keep reminding myself that I AM worth the work it takes to be healthy, and I find it really inspiring to see the efforts and successes of others - read up on the Goals and Mini-goals sections!

Hello and :welcome3:
Yes, the more weight we gain the harder it is to want to get up and to something about it. But it IS worth it!! Hang in there... you can do it |
You can do this! Just make the decision to start and not look back (well unless you're like me and want to see how far you've come :D )
I'm outside of DFW and we both have similar goals! I hope you join the daily accountability thread http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/weig...elcome-22.html as it's great (and my son joined the Navy, he's in the nuke program and because of that his date is March 2013 so he's still home--but soon won't be..it's gonna be weird). |
Yes to what Serenity said! Also, it is nice to reflect and focus on the things you can DO now that you could not before! This morning I climbed right out of the pool easily on the deep end ladder! I loved it!!
Also, I will second Serenity's invitation to the daily thread she mentioned. It is a GREAT support thread!! |
