Arrow Navy Servicemember needs your help!

Greetings! My name is Corey and I am new to this site. I am currently in the US Navy and returned from a deployment to Iraq last September in great shape and lost all fitness ability by being lazy and rapidly consuming low quality "convenience" foods. I just feel rather torn apart over the issue and need someone to help me get back!

I'm looking for any form of support, new friends, accountability, anything and everything will help and I look forward to meeting some new friends to struggle through this process with me! Don't be shy!

Thank you for your time!

-Corey

Hey Corey! Welcome to the forum! So glad you found us.
Do you know what food plan you are going to follow? There is a ton of information about many different food plans on this site. Pick a plan that fits in your lifestyle and you can follow long term. I chose calorie counting because it is free and flexible. It allows me to eat almost anything I wanted as long as it fits within my calorie range for the day and there are ton of free apps out there to help you track your food.
Give up the sugary drinks and drink lots and lots of water.
Incorporate some exercise into your weekly routine. You do not have to join an expensive gym try to walk more, use the stairs more, download videos off of YouTube or Hulu.com to work out to. There are a lot of things you can to do with spending a ton of money.
Lastly, if you have a bad meal, a bad day, heck, a bad food week. Do NOT let this be a reason to throw in the towel. Get back on track at the next meal. You can do this!!!
Best of luck to you!

Hey Corey! Welcome to 3FC. Good for you for taking the weight loss bull by the horns. NEMom has some pretty good advice. Check out some of the different boards that catch your eye and don't hesitate to post - this is a pretty supportive environment.

Smile hi! welcome!

hi Corey, glad you found 3fc. There are men on here and a thread for just guy support too so I hope you feel welcome in all the threads. It is the most awesome support you'll find. Also, if you wanna add me as a friend on myfitnesspal.com my username is the same on there (chubbygirl253). If you haven't checked out myfitnesspal you might want to. It is really great for tracking your food and exercise and really easy to use (and free!). But my advice is that the forum for support and questions is soooo much beter here. Wishing you lots of success!

Hi Corey, WELCOME to 3FC!! This is a great support network that is full of information! Do you have a plan yet? Depending on what you choose: calorie counting, low carb, etc there are quite a fewoutta recipes here and other other sites as well! I wish you luck and feel free to message me anytime. Thank you for your service to our country.
