I'm 28 years old. I have been struggling with my weight since middle school. I am now at my highest ever at 260. I know that I can do it if I exercise and eat right. I have done that in the past. In 2008 I went from 253 to 208 by March of 2009. All I did was eat right and workout so I know I can do it again. I started to feel very comfortable with myself at this weight (even though I know that I could have/should have lost more). I got into a long term relationship at this time with my now husband. We both struggle with our weight and had both seen large weight lose before meeting each other. Since March of 2009 I have been slowly putting the weight back on and now I'm higher then I was in 2008. My husband has also put back on the weight he had lost. At this time we need to do something about it. We want to have kids and although we have not been trying yet we know that our weight can cause use problems with this and then even if we do have a child we are worried that our weight will make it more difficult to keep up with having kids. I am ready and wanting to do this this time and get down to my goal weight of 160 (I'm 5'7"). I have myfitnesspal and I've already joined some of the competitions on the form that will hopefully motivate me to do this! I look forward to meeting others and supporting one another.
It sounds like you've previously been in a similar position, so it's encouraging to hear that you have lost weight before and know how achievable it is. You can do it
Best of luck to the both of you in your weight loss and have fun settling into the forum, we're a friendly bunch.
I'm also a new user to this site but can relate to your struggles. Having a buddy system helped me because being overweight runs in my family, we all ended up working out and supporting each other which made it fun. I'm a big fan of MyFitnessPal too. Best of luck
