Hi - new here...

  • Good morning.

I gained more than 20 pounds in under two years. It came suddenly after a lifestyle change - I had been living with an active boyfriend in Asia, doing all the stuff I had always loved doing (biking, running, hiking along with eating and drinking!).

When I moved back to Canada, I started to live with mom who cannot live alone anymore, and WHAM! On came the weight under mom's spaghetti and generous desserts, along with a greatly reduced activity level.

I am 142.6 this morning. I know I am a "lightweight", but I'm tired of squeezing into clothes that used to fit, and then buying one size higher every few months.

So, I hope to get inspiration from this forum to a)quit drinking for a while; b) stop the crappy carbo overloading; c) get back out and be active again!

I think I need to be accountable, and to stop saying to myself "oh, just for today I'll eat poutine and potato chips!", and "I'll get out on the bike tomorrow..."
  • welcome!
