Hi there

I'm new, thought I should introduce myself. I'm 24, been overweight and unhappy with how I look...forever, basically. So I'm here to try and get myself fit and healthy in a healthy and sustainable way. I have not always had such a good relationship with food, so this isn't a diet, it's more of a lifestyle change.

Hope to see you all around.

Here's a dancing carrot to wish you happy Sunday:

Hello missmurphtang

Glad you decided to join us. You've certainly come to the right place for support and encouragement.

I am with you on not dieting but just getting fit in a healthy and sustainable way. What types of food are you eating? Are you working out?

I look forward to seeing you around the forum.

Yeah, at the moment I am trying to eat at least 5 servings of fruit and veg a day (fruit for breakfast is always good--I like doing a serving of blue berries, a banana, and an orange) and eat less crappy foods. I'm not cutting out junk food all together, because in all honesty I don't see the problem with having a mcds maybe once a month or something, but I am definitely cutting down and trying to think more about what I'm eating I've also eliminated snacking, because crisps were my ultimate weakness at work.

For exercise, I'm trying to do the c25k at the moment, but running every day, as opposed to every other day. I can't get past week 4 though, I've done it four times now and have yet to manage it *grrr* I suppose I will just have to keep fighting through. It's very frustrating, because I used to be able to run 5k with absolutely no problem :/ All I have to keep telling myself is that if I could do it before, I can do it again .
