Default New to the site!

Hi gals and guys! My names Ashley, I'm 23 years old, 5'4 and I currently weight 226 pounds. For about 5 years I've been overweight, and my self confidence and self esteem has suffered greatly. I also suffer from very bad acne on my arms, breast, and face, and due to compulsive picking over the past 5 years, I have horrible acne scars. This year, I've decided that I no longer want to be overweight. When I was a teenager and child, I was always slim. Through mood stabilizers, depression, and other factors, my weight gain seemed to increase yearly. I've currently been dealing with chronic back pain and stomach ailments for the past 2 1/2 years, and I've decided enough is enough. I currently was diagnosed with IBS, so it's about time I get healthy. Anyways, I am hoping this blog will help me stay on track with support from the site and it's members.

Ashley, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diet plans, themes, or age groups, so find one that inspires you and just post to join! Be sure to check out the 20-somethings and Dieting with Obstacles.

I posted in here awhile ago in which I didn't start my weight loss. I can finally say as of June 3rd, I've started my weight loss with joining a gym, working out a minimum of 3 days a week (5 is most ideal), and staying on track with weight watchers. Thanks for all the responses from the past. I'll be on this site more actively now, as I've finally thrown away the excuses and put my money where my mouth is.
