Hello - I'm new and this is a bit about me.
My name is Karen and I am 48 (almost 49) years old, currently in pre-menopause and once again, trying to get healthy. I look forward to using this forum for support and encouragement and hope to be able to give some back. The weight loss program I use is sort of an old one and I have had to change it up a bit. The diet was popular in the 80's and is called the F-Plan Diet. For whatever reason, this plan, which is high fiber grains. low fat proteins and veggies works well for me. I throw in fruit and eat clean. Now I just have to stay on it long enough for it to have long lasting effects. I battle stress constantly from all angles of life and I have decided that to be successful in weight loss that I will begin incorporating breathing exercises, meditation and beginning yoga to ward off the stress that always seems to be the detriment of my weight loss. I also read a book which I would encourage everyone to read. It is called WATER WITH LEMON. It's a good book about a woman who learns how to lose weight through everyday rituals including always having a pitcher of water with lemon in her refrigerator.
I am currently working full time in the legal industry as a victim advocate, I have a 4 year old granddaughter who is my joy in life, I love horses and in particular, arabian horses and have six with my 27 year old daughter. I love books and crafty things, mostly stained glass. So, enough about me. I hope everyone has a great day and I wish everyone success in your weight loss endeavors. Karen
