Default One Month and Counting..

Hi all! Exactly one month ago I said 'enough is enough' after stepping on the scale for the first time in two years. I was (or rather, still am) sick and tired of going out and finding clothing that I adore but they never carry my size. It is frustrating, as I have never binged on food ever or eaten so much that I felt like I was going to explode. I just figured I had very slow metabolism.

Anyway, one month ago I decided to make it my goal to lose weight and gain a healthier lifestyle. In the first two weeks, I lost 12 pounds between exercising and cutting calories/eating healthier. Unfortunately, since Mother's day I haven't lost a pound. My weight seems to fluctuate. I lost 12, gained 6 while camping. But then I lost the 6 pounds again, and gained an additional 4 lbs around my lady 'time of the month'! (Does anyone else have this problem? It is definitely discouraging.)

But alas, I won't give up. I will continue to do what I am doing and will eventually reach my goal of 100 lbs lighter!

Thanks all for reading!

Congratulations on making the decision to lead a healthier life! It is a learning process and there will be mistakes and ups and downs. Good for you not giving up! Bloating and cravings during the time of the month can definitely have and impact on the scale. Don't let it get you down and keep working hard on your goals because once TOM is over, the loss will be worth it!

Weight fluctuations are driving me nuts too! Trying to just take it one day at a time and keep going! Good luck on your journey!

Welcome & good luck on your weight loss journey!

Sounds like you are off to a great start, don't let the minor blips on the radar put you off. Fluctuations are normal, especially around the time of the month.

Hi parkii3,
I am new here as well and newly dedicated to losing 100 lbs too. We were exactly the same weight when we started and it should feels great to say I was 250. I have lost 25 lbs is 7 weeks and I'm doing my best not to get discouraged on the weeks when I lose nothing or go upa few lbs. Just like you I gained during that time of month but I was back on track the next week so I try to ignore those bloating lbs. Good Luck on your journey. I'll look for updates on your progress and post some of my own.

Hi Parkii3,

I thought I was the only one that got frustrated. Don't get discouraged. You are in the right place and doing the right things.

Good luck!
