Default Looking for buddy to lose 20#'s with.

Hi, new here. I thought I would see if there was someone in my boat that I can follow on a journey. I'm 37 years old, mom, 5'3 and 143#'s. I look best at about 125#. I don't do well on fad diets. I plan to exercise, add more veggies and watch calories. Simple right? thought it might be nice to have someone to be accountable to and vice versa thanks!

Hello. Welcome! Definitely check out the featherweights support board. It's for people who don't have quite as much weight to lose. You'll find loads of other people who are trying to lose within the same range as you. Also definitely check out the calorie count, exercise and food boards. Maybe you could even join a challenge to up the ante a little. Good luck in achieving your goals!

Welcome! I'm in a similar situation (37 year old mom, 5'4" and currently 143.5) I'm hoping to wind up around 120.

I've been here only about 2 weeks, but I have to say I find reading all the posts helpful and encouraging. Not to mention everyone's positivity and seeing people who have achieved real weight loss through all their hard work!

I've lost 2.5 pounds in the 2 weeks I've been here. I use the 'Lose It!' app on my iphone to keep track of meals and calories, but there are a ton of other ways to track, so check out the Calorie Counters board too for advice.

So far my plan has been:
- Eat Healthier (waaayy more veggies & fruits than the last time I dieted)
- Watch calories/portions. I'm sticking to slightly less than 1500 calories)
- Exercise more (although I def need to kick it up a notch)
- Slow and steady. I'm only going for about a 1/2 pound weight loss each week. Achieving my goal will be slower but I think I'll get there is a more realistic fashion.
