Welcome to the forum

Congrats on your forthcoming wedding - and for deciding it's time to change your weight - that's always the hardest step.

For me, the easiest way to start is with little steps. Start by looking at your diet and cutting out a few obvious things that you know are bad for you. Maybe replace a mid-morning chocolate snack with a piece of fruit, etc. Also start getting a little exercise - you don't have to start big. I started by trying to walk half a mile and then gradually upped distance and pace. Long term it makes a huge difference.

Obviously I don't know enough about you to give the best advice. If you have any health issues, I'd recommend seeing your doctor before starting. Exercise may be something you're already doing or it may be hard because of a health issue. You may not be able to eat certain foods. The lovely people on this forum will be able to help though, I'm sure

WELCOME...and congrats on your wedding. I'm still on this journey but a few thoughts:
.
1) Find a plan you can live with and not just lose weight quickly on.
2) Find an exercise routine that keeps you engaged. It will help.
3) Don't let a momentary slip stop you. There will be bumps and weak moments...and if you're like me, times when you absolutely fail. Keep going. If you do nothing, there's 100% chance that nothing will change or things will get worse. If you keep pushing forward, at least you'll have a chance,
3) Remember, one day at a time, one meal at a time, one pound at a time!

Cheering you on to goal

Welcome back!

And congrats on your engagement! Try not to worry about the wedding too much -- your fiancee loves you as you are. Your union will be lovely, and the related party foo foo is just party foo foo. You will have a good time.

On the weight loss? Do you know your preferences? Like are you a calorie counter? Exchanges? Something else?

Want things planned out? Or a looser system?

What do you like for exercise?

A.

thanks for the welcome. as for health issues, I have back problems, but will be able to do something about them after I lose the weight. I'm not just losing weight because im getting married, I've thought long and hard that its time for a change and its the first thing that needs to be changed.

I haven't thought what preferences should be included or that I want. I just got myself to admit i need to lose the weight for better or worse it has to go. and so I have no clue....

I like routine but it gets tiring and boring after a while so a slightly planned out yet loose system a bit of both would be nice. and I don't know what I would like as far as exercise. sorry i'm not much help
