Hi from Australia

  • Hi everyone!!
I've been trying to lose weight for a while. I started on 136kgs (299lbs I think) and so far I've lost 10 kg (22lbs). I'm hoping to get down to a healthy weight. So far losing weight hasn't been easy but I'm getting used to it. I started out counting calories but it didn't seem to work out for me so I went with Weight Watchers, which so far is good. I've also been exercising and hope to get a lot fitter. Getting fitter was what inspired me to lose weight. I was sick of the aches and pains of being so heavy.
I can't wait to meet others trying to lose weight.
  • Hello. I'm on weight watchers too! I was traveling two weeks this month and didn't track at all while on vacation, but as soon as I returned I went back to tracking. I've lost almost 25 pounds so far. I started around new year's. I too used to calorie count a lot but finally admitted that wasn't working. So far I really like the WW program and it works for me.
  • VIOLET ~ glad you joined us here; we have an active WW forum here where you can get some support. This is a big place though; take a look around and just jump right in wherever you like ...

BTW, congrats on losing the first 22 lbs; that's a great start ...
  • Thankyou both for the welcome and the congrats.
I've had a look around the site and have noticed it is a big place. I checked out the weight watchers forum.
  • Hello!
I read some of your other posts and saw in your signature that your goal weight is 65 pounds and now I came here to tell you that I think it is an unheathy goal. But now I see that you're using the metric system and that it's actually pretty normal!
    Hope you're doing ok!
  • Hello Violet
I'm an aussie and love cats too, though one in the house is enough. Its awkward this pounds/kgs thing isn't it.

Anyway we have to make an effort if we want to be understood i guess.

    Goodluck with your program.
  • I'm thinner using the metric system
We use the metric system too - I just figured that most of the people on the forum are from USA! Anyway, I prefer the metric system, because having 90kg seems a lot less than 200pounds!
