I ran across an interesting quote: “Weight does not dictate your health or your worth.” *On the surface that makes sense. Weight *does not dictate *your health or worth except when it does. I reached my tipping point tonight. I realized that I over eat on a daily basis. My feet hurt and swell, I am up all night peeing with foot and leg cramps. I live in a constant state of heartburn. I can't remember the last time a day went by with out the bitter taste of acid in my mouth or the sensation that my chest is on fire. Walking through the super market winds me.
I do not know what possessed me to do it but I stepped on a new fancy scale I bought and had never used. At 5'4" I weigh 248.8 lbs. Over half my body composition is fat 51.2% and I have a BMI of 47.1. The chart tells me I am morbidly obese but more than that I feel morbidly obese.
I have the overwhelming sense that if I don't make a change right now I will not be here a year from now. I am hoping to draw inspiration from your stories and gain tips and tools on my journey back to health.
You can make a change. We're the same height. I was morbidly obese two months ago.I am not anymore. Still obese but the dreaded word is gone. Browse the forum and you will find loads of info to get you started.

I completely understand wherer you are coming from I resently joined to and I am a little heavier thatn you but the feeling that this is it and now is the time or I wont be hear has hit memore than once but I will do this for me and so will you Ive drawn much inspirations form those on this site and looking at the pics when Im down to see that if I dont give up I soon will be there has really helped !
I hope you realize that you just took the hardest step of all! Getting started, opening up...that's the difficult part, I think. Yes, it's hard to sit at a birthday party and only eat from the fruit/veggie tray instead of the cake and ice cream! However, it's so much easier to say "I'll start tomorrow" and put it off another day. You chose today to not do that anymore! Congratulations! I look forward to seeing you celebrate your success!
