Default Want to feel beautiful again...

I'm a thirtysomething, mother of three, wife, FT employee, and GS troop leader. I feel completely lost most days and can't seem to focus on anything. I have so many things I want to do that my own fears and excuses get in the way. I don't know why.

I'm hoping to find a place for support and ideas on how to manage my time better. I have 125 lbs to lose and struggle with finding just 10 minutes to work on me.

Chris, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diet plans, themes, or age groups, so find one that inspires you and just post to join! Be sure to check out the 30-somethings.

Hi Chris, welcome!

The last sentence in your intro really got to me – I know how that feels! With two kids of very different ages, school drop-offs and pick-ups, extracurricular activities, and in my case taking German lessons and being active in the local expat community and trying to volunteer when possible... it's hard to carve in some time for myself.

But in my case, I recently realized that it was mostly because I was prioritizing everyone else's needs over mine. I have returned to 3FatChicks recently myself (also with 100 lbs to lose), so I am not in a position to step on any soap boxes, but I just want to tell you: we can and we should put some emphasis on what we need, too! I may not do spas and girls nights out, but I vowed to carve out 30 minutes to exercise at the very least :-)

Welcome again, and here's to us finally working for ourselves
