This is my first post and introduction, though I have been reading posts off and on since I started IP in October. The site has great information and has been helpful.
I am finding now that I am past phase 1 I am having a hard time sticking to the protocol of the diet. I see some threads about cheating, but I am not sure which forum is best for me.
I need support and encouragement for sticking to phases 3 and 4 -- I've been on the diet long enough that I am burned out and tired of avoiding parties and events and vacations and making huge sacrifices and drawing on all my willpower. I feel like it's just gone. And I feel so stupid for working so hard and now that I am close I am making big mistakes.
How big a mistake is it to cheat off and on on phase 3? I have a big event coming up and want to enjoy it but it is hard for me to get back on track after I cheat.
Peaches, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diet plans, themes, or age groups, so find one that inspires you and just post to join!
You might try posting your question in the IP subforum to get a more informed response.
Congrats on your weight loss success to date. I do not know anything about IP but you are so close to your goal - don't give up now!
The one thing I might advise is to start tracking your calories now when you are 'cheating' because to successfully maintain your weight loss you will have to find a way of eating to be successful long term.
