Hiya!
Hi! I'm Maggi, 25, a married mom of two kiddos, aged 3 and 7 months. I'm excited to find out about this forum! I've had weight to lose for quite a while, since before I had kids. I "carry it well," because I'm nearly 6' tall but by BMI standards I am considered to be obese and I long to be 50 pounds lighter. My first goal is to get below 200 -- I know I can do it!
My younger brother is my biggest inspiration. He struggled with his weight when we were kids, and around the time he entered college a few years ago, he started working his tail off, exercising and eating better. He looks absolutely amazing now and is very committed to his diet and fitness regimen, and the last time I was in visiting him he took me running and I realized how much I'd like to pursue that as my exercise of choice. I started the Couch 2 5K program, today, and was surprised at how well I did, because although I run after the kids all day (my baby just learned how to crawl a few weeks ago, and he really keeps me on my toes!), I still lead a pretty sedentary lifestyle.
I'm hoping my new commitment to getting myself healthy and fit will inspire my husband to do the same. I worry about his health regularly. He isn't much a fan of diet or exercise.
