Hello!
My name is Melanie and I'm 18 years old.
I'm currently on a weight loss journey!
I'm doing an extreme water fast to lose all of this weight!
I am on day 7 and have lost 9lbs.
I don't plan on stopping until i reach my goal weight, or until my body tells me other wise!
What thread do you guys think i should start posting in?
Anyways thanks for reading...sorry if its getting long lol

Good for you Melanie! And be careful! I did A LOT of "water fasting" when I was your age, and it can make you feel pretty sad if and when the weight comes back.

I'm not an expert, but water fasting can be a dangerous endeavor, because it can lead to a nasty eating disorder leaving you with even less self esteem (my personal experience). PLUS, your body needs food to live.

Have you picked a diet and exercise plan for once you've reached your water fast goal?

Sorry to sound "mother-ish," I just don't want anyone to go what I went through.

Hi Melanie and welcome to 3fc!! I actually never heard of doing a water fast before. It sounds kind of extreme. I assume this is a short term fast.

I am calorie counting and have found that works for me. You need to find a way to eat, and new eating habits, that you can live with for the rest of your life. Good luck to you and we are glad you are here!

Welcome! I've always wanted to do a long water fast. I've actually done a few 3 day fasts but I work at a grocery store(it's IMPOSSIBLE to fast and work around food) and I'm a full time student which means I have to be mentally alert and I wasn't during my fasts. I'm really curious to see how far you get on your fast, and if you ever need support or someone to help keep you from breaking your fast prematurely I'd be happy to try and help.
