New & Need Restart & Motivation

Currently at-home....Husband works/travels a LOT and 13-year old son commutes by train to school so I'm home alone with cats ALL DAY!

Right now I'm cleaning/purging house but the days are looooong especially since I'm up at 5am to get son to train station!

Had great start after leaving job at beginning of summer...walking and dieting but have relapsed lately...especially with lots of time to cook and the holidays:happ3:

Need to get back on track and motivated :drill:!!!
I'm 40-ish and Need to lose around 25 pounds.

AND my dog needs to lose 20 pounds!...(according to our vet.)

Hi! I'm also at home and am looking to drop 35 lbs. It seems I keep yo-yoing up and down the same 15 lbs. or so. Looking to finally reach my goal.

I keep falling off the wagon and stop paying attention to what I'm eating. I know all the right things to do and what works for me, etc. It's just doing them that I seem to have problems with. Ugh.

My vet also said my one dog was overweight. Our solution? We got another dog! For some reason it's easier to make sure two dogs get walked every day vs. when we just had one dog. She has lost weight because her collar is much looser and her waist is more defined . . . wish I could say the same about me!

Welcome to the forum!
Find a food plan that fits in your lifestyle and you can follow long term. Incorporate some exercise you can do at home during your free time.
Best of luck to you!!

Yeah I've been trying to kick start if for quite sometime . . . only to ignore it as I yank up my sweat pants. Somehow I found that 'thing' recently and decided to give a go yet again. Hey if you want to buddy up, I'm in. I joined the December Weight Loss Challenge and the December Exercise Challenge in the Chicks Up For a Challenge forum.

Okay! That would be great!

I'm going to join those forums tomorrow after I get on the dreaded scale for the first time in a LONG time!:fr:

KG . . . how has this week been for you? I'm getting back into the groove but also am prepping for when the novelty of it all wears off. Then the scale moving down will help keep me in the game.

Hi loose seal!
How are you? Things are going okay. I volunteered yesterday at the local Cat Shelter which took up most of my day so I didn't get to walk! The good news is that I was so busy I didn't eat much.
But I'm going out to walk the dog in a little while and then I will walk after that.
I seemed to have dropped a little (water) weight so you're right...that's encouraging...
How is it going for you?

Not too bad. I don't think the scale has moved yet but I feel better and am OP.

I've been lagging on the water except for the past day or so and I know I need to up that . . . and yeah, gotta remember to not wait until late in the day to drink. heh

Hey when we got our second dog I decided to cut down our older dogs food just by about 1/2 cup (dry) and also switched to feeding them twice/day. We had fed once/day but the new dog took some time to adjust to everything and . . . it just fell into twice a day. And with the increased walking we noticed a weight loss in her after two months. We gave them baths in the beginning of October (the new dog came in the beginning of August) and she was pretty much done her massive fall shed so her collar was lose after her bath anyway. But after she was all dry again. . . her collar was still pretty loose and remains so. Oh and both dogs play with each other, which probably helped with her losing weight too.
