Smile Ready to Release the Skinny Girl!

Hi Everyone!
I found this sight because...well I purposefully was seeking a weight loss support site. I am very happily married (a newly wed as of 4/29/11). I have been overweight since I was 8 and it was only after I requested a thyroid test be done was it performed. I have been on levothyroxine for a month and am looking forward to actually losing and keeping off weight...instead of losing 10 lbs only to gain it back while still dieting and exercising! I am doing p90x (as off 11/17) and yes I know what I'm getting into...I did it for about a month before my wedding but I didn't lose any weight which I expect is because of a very slow thyroid.

In the end I want to lose at least 100lbs. Don't wanna really say a weight because I am more concerned with size. I currently weigh 265 and am a size 22...I have a few friends who weigh between 220-230 and are the same size as me. Perhaps I have lead bones? lol Anyway, I am very serious about losing the weight and my goal size is a 6. I don't have a goal that says I need to lose a certain amount each week or even each month. My goals are simply to stick with p90x for 90 days in addition to a low calorie, low (not atkins low) carb diet. After all, the side effect of healthy living is a healthy body.

I know what makes me feel the best...thanks to 14 years of dieting and exercising...but I could really use some encouragement! I tried to start a group with some of my overweight friends but after a month they all decided it was too much in addition to work/life/etc. I am 22, work 50-70 hours a week, have a husband, two dogs, a cat, and a very active social calendar...and none of those things are excuses...they are just my life and if any of us are going to lose anything we have to decide that we will deal with the cards we have been dealt instead of complaining about them!

Welcome to the forum! You have a great attitude and it sounds like you have a sold eating and exercise plan you can stick to.
I am happy to hear you took your health into your own hands and made them test you! Good job standing up for yourself.
There is a ton of information and support on this site! I wish you all the best on your weight loss journey.
