I just signed up for your site today. I am a 33 year old female who has been trying to lose weight for months now with little success. I feel like I have been trying to swim upstream. I am hoping by joining you all I can gain some tips / tricks and support. My first goal is for is for the next 2 week to drink 64 ounces of water or unsweet tea a day. My husband is verbally supportive but then goes and gets McDonalds 2 times a day ! He then tells me to practice self control when I want something I should not eat. I love him dearly but his idea of being supportive and mine are very different.
I look forward to meeting you and hearing your weight loss stories
Welcome to the forum. It can be challenging to eat heathier when those around us are not real supportive and eat things they know we are trying to avoid.
Try going in another room when he is eating McDonalds or other food items you are trying to stay away from. Last night my DH was eating cookies with fudge in them, good thing my stomach was hurting because I was really craving chocolate.
Congrats on your 7lb loss and best of luck on your weight loss journey!
Hi Nikki!
My name is Anabell. I'm 31 yrs old and i'm new to this site. You & me both are on the same boat. I have visited this site many times but never had the guts to signed up since its all public... lol but i finally decided to do it and here i am. I have Hashimoto's disease (Thyroid problem- it will turn HYPO one day) i barely eat as it is. If any normal person were to eat like i do, they will probably be skin and bones. i need to learn how to eat properly and i need to learn how to cook low carb meals since i'm not allow to eat that much carbs due to my thyroid problem. i will start my blog pretty soon and document my journey. i want to help girls like me to lose weight. i will be my own guinea pig..lol because there aren't many helpful websites out there for people with my problem. so wish me luck!

hello, i am so confused with this site, although i can tell that i'm going to love it here, i don't know if what i am posting is being seen by everyone or just one person. but here goes again.
Hi all of you. my name is Sherri and about 2 weeks ago, i had made a decision to stop all of my bad eating behavior. i've read everything, gone to counseling, joined gyms, countless attempts at weight watchers, prayed, beat myself up and then did it all again...for the last 10 years! i thought this last "epiphany" had finally worked, but it didn't. i did however come across this site and i had a good feeling about it.
my hope is that i will find the support, encouragement and motivation that i haven't been able to find anywhere else. i'm so tired of being fat, but i have been told i'm a "food addict". i've also been encouraged to go to O.A., but along with everything else, it didn't work for me. i've always considered myself an intelligent woman, but you'd never know it by my out of control eating. i recently completed 6months of chemo for colon cancer. i had the most amazing surgeon and was able to come out of this thing pretty well. but i am gaining weight that i can't afford to gain. i'm scared and i need help. does anyone have any suggestions? thank you for all of your help.Sherri
Hi Anabell- Thank you for the response. I did low carb once upon a time and there are a lot of yummy recipes out there. I wish you luck I am not sure what I am doing yet.
Everyone can see your post. its not just one person. The hardest thing about this site is when someone responds to your thread. I am subscribed to so many different threads.
Each of you have made a great decision to start to losing the weight, are you going to do a certain plan or just cut back on what you are eating now. There is a forum on this site for every diet you can imagine possible that is out there. There is a ton of support on each of them. Good luck to each and every one of you on your journey's.
Nikki here is a recipe for a Big Mac bowl....its everything but the bread and is very yummy. Next time your hubby brings home McD's you can fix yourself this.....
Big Mac in a Bowl
Ingredients:
5 oz Extra Lean Ground Beef
1/4 c finely chopped onion
1/4 c finely chopped dill pickles
3/4 c finely shredded iceberg lettuce
1 - 2 tbsp WF Thousand Island Dressing
1 oz Low Fat Cheddar
Directions:
Cook up extra lean ground beef, drain fat and return to pan and add seasonings of choice (I used garlic powder, onion powder, Mrs. Dash, salt & pepper). Remove beef from heat & mix in WF Thousand Island Dressing, pickles & onion Spread lettuce on plate, add beef mixture on top, sprinkle with cheese.
I hear your problem. I will very soon be 65 and so far have lost 42 LBS. Live with family, they eat anything,I still stick to my MRC diet plan. It has been hard but I have gotten a lot of my self control back. Am also a diabetic and so have somehwat learned how to or should I say how i should have eaten. Was doing ok,keeping my blood suagrs at the under control level.
No one here is supportive of me. Have email friends and MRC ladies who are and that has helped.
Keep up the good work and try to ignore your husbands comments and just think of you and what you are trying to achive.
MMMMMMMMMThis looks good. Will have to try it only I will use buffalo. it tastes just like beef burger.
You are looking good, keep it up.
Thanks again for the receipe.
