New Beginnings...

  • Hello everyone! My name is D and I'm 17. I've been struggling with my weight for as long as I can remember. I was always one of the heaviest in my classes at school, out of my friends, etc. I've tried to go on diets and workouts, but I never stuck to it. I'm now on my first week, 3rd day of Weight Watchers and I feel confident in it. I'm really excited to go to my next meeting for my second weigh-in. The day I attended my first meeting (Monday, August 22, 2011) I weighed in at 272.8 lbs and my overall goal weight is 124 lbs. I'm excited for this journey and even though I know it will take a while, the work will be worth it in the end!
I'm just here to look for support and to support other people who are in the same boat as I am.
  • Welcome!! I'm so glad I clicked on this thread.....I started my weight loss journey on August 22, 2010! You're only half and inch taller than me and almost the exact same starting weight. You've got a great outlook on knowing that this will take time and commitment, but I just wanted to comment to show just how far you can make it in one short year.

    Happy losing!
  • Thanks so much for the support peanutt! I'm looking forward to watch myself lose the weight and become a healthier person over the year! Congrats on your 1 year and the weight that you've lost! You've done a phenomenal job from what I can tell by your weight loss ticker!

    Keep up the good work!
  • Thanks D! 3FC has been key to my success, especially the support groups and challenges. If you're interested in a little accountability and some challenges along the way, check out the Biggest Loser challenges that run in multiple sub-forums. I'm also part of a thread called Sarge's No Excuses and No Whining Boot Camp that's filled with successful and determined people to support you and give you those little kicks in the butt that we all need every so often.
  • Thanks Peanutt! I'll definitely look into that. I'm actually doing the Weight Watchers diet. I just got back from my second weigh in and I lost 8.6 lbs!
  • That's awesome! You're off to such a good start!
